Pierre-Luc Gagnon had a flawless Skate Vert run to win the Toyota Challenge in Salt Lake City today. Second place went to Shaun White and was one trick away from taking the prize from PLG. Bucky Lasek finished third.
“It feels great to finally win,” said PLG following his first place finish. “It’s been a minute. I got second place so many times in the past year and I was getting pretty frustrated. I knew that this run could win if I did it. If you bring something new, then the judges will reward you. And that’s what I did today.”
PLG’s win puts him in the top position to win the Dew Cup going into the Dew Tour Championships in Las Vegas. Lasek and White follow closely behind in the rankings with only 18 points separating the three, making for an exciting run for the Championships, which will take place October 13-16.
